Hello Again

Dear A.,

It’s been a long time since we saw each other the last time. I remember it was an ordinary day. The sky was overcast with indifferent clouds. That day, I kept wanting to ask how you were doing. But that intrusive wind whistled so loudly in my ears and stole my breath that I could not utter a word. The only thing I could do was shift from one foot to the other and look at your tousled hair. So we parted ways that day.

And then summer came. The sun always prevented me from concentrating. I began to go to bed late again, counting the stars in the sky, tossed and turned in my bed, listening to my neighbors mumbling through the wall. And in the mornings, without a drop of sleep, I swallowed cold tea, hiding now and then from the bright light. I’m not fond of summer, because all the days in summer are the same, incoherent. The sun rises early; the rays confuse thoughts and blind the eyes. All this is not for me.

It’s good that autumn has come. Finally, I can properly shake off the last rays of light and put my thoughts in order. It’s been a long time since we saw each other the last time… How are you doing today?

To be continued.
